The fees are a fixed price for individual courses:
- 3-Day Course - $250
- WAV - $125
- Renewal - $150
- Defensive Driving - $75
Yes, to drive for Uber, Lyft, Yellow cab, Green cab, or any base in NYC you will need a TLC License.
You must be 18 years or older, have a Social Security Number, and a valid Driver's License. Out of state licenses may need an abstract - contact us for more information on that.
You must make an application, complete all education requirements, pass the TLC exam, take a drug test and medical exam, and have your fingerprints taken at an approved site.
Applicants are eligible to take the TLC exam after completing the 3-Day Course. However, it is recommended that students complete the WAV and DDC courses as well to be fully prepared for the exam.
No, the WAV course is required for ALL students to take to get a TLC license. Even if you do not plan on driving a WAV, you must be trained in it.
From start to finish, the entire process to get a TLC license costs about $900-$950.
